Several influential scientists and enterprisers in the computer area were invited to make keynotes, which tackled many key issues on computer science and technology.

Enhancing the Advanced Research in China
Li Guojie
Prof. Li, the Honorary President of CCF, presents a deep analysis about the situation on the prospective research in China. He points out that the lack of breaking-though in key technology is the bottleneck of the development of China’s Computer industry and suggests China’s research institutions be united for doing “big things”.
A Vision for Computer Science -- The System Perspective
Joseph Sifakis
Prof. Sifakis from the VERIMAG Laboratory, the recipient of 2007 ACM Turing Award, discusses the evolution of computer science and in particular its shift of focus from algorithms and programs to systems. He also advocates a coherent scientific foundation of system design and presents a vision on its development.
The Future of Computing
Peter A. Freeman
By telling stories of how the “computing future” we know today came to be (or, not to be), Prof. Peter A. Freeman from the Georgia Institute of Technology, USA, the former Assistant Director of US National Science Foundation, gives his opinions on what are the characters of talents and what are elements of “futuristic” computing.
Towards a Smarter Web
Wendy Hall
Prof. Wendy Hall from the University of Southampton, UK, the former President of the ACM, summaries the development of web and web science, and points out that the key to a smarter web is “the return of the link”.
Reflections on the Development of Computer Science and Technology in China
Tony Chan
By recounting some of his own experiences, Prof. Chan, the President of Hong Kong University of Science & Technology, makes his observations on issues covering from computer science to science and technology development in China in general, with an eye towards the future.
Computational Thinking
Chen Guoliang
Prof. Chen from the University of Science and Technology of China, introduces his perspective on computational thinking and remarks that as a fundamental concept, computational thinking is a key element of computing education in the university.
