YOCSEF had a successful forum in Shanghai on Oct. 29. Three KN persons were invited and around 50 people attended the forum. The forum was host by Aoying and Yuxi. Zide, Tieniu, Jin Zhi (also Tieqing), Yuanchun, Li Bo, Zhenkun (from Beijing) and Zhaohui (from Hangzhou) went to Shanghai especially for this forum. The forum was held at Fudan Expert Building, faculties, particularly Prof. Daxue Li, from Department of CS of Fudan Univ. did most organization work, great thanks to them.

I’d like to highly appreciate two hosts, Aoying and Yuxi who did a lot for this forum, and also appreciate those YOCSEF members who paid their valuable time and money for Shanghai forum. There might be no success without their participation.

AC members had a meeting with some Shanghai young computer experts who will be involved in YOCSEF Shanghai-Branch AC (SHB AC). Yuxi was elected as SHB AC Chairman, and Aoying vice Chairman. It is decided that several YOCSEF academic activities will be organized in Shanghai, Shanghai AC members will make a year plan, secretariat will be set at Shanghai Computer Society.

Although some aspects of Shanghai forum are to be improved later on, it is another successful forum outside of Beijing.
