Whole AC members meeting was held on Oct 17 at CCF, the aim of the meeting is to discuss AR (seminar) to be held on Oct 23, to determine several issues of the forum on Nov. 21, to exchange the information on recent proceedings of CCF, and so on.
Yaoxue, Tieniu, Mei Hong, Baisu, Ying, Weixing, Zhiwei, Mingshu and Zide took part in the meeting. Zide hosted the meeting.
Maosong, Guisi, Xiangdong, Weiqing, Xiaofeng, Zhenkun apologized for being absent, because of their urgent business.
Yuanchun is still ill and she has to lie on the bed till the end of this year.
No information from Jiuru, Yixian, Jinpeng, probably they must be being busy on their bunisess.
Yaoxue came back from JP and he entertained all AC members with delicious food before meeting. Highly appreciate Yaoxue.
1. Tieniu reported the preparation for AR on Oct 23, three speakers are to be invited: Prof. Zhansheng Zhao, Yixian Yang and Sihan Qing. The theme is information security.
Mei Hong will supply all equipment for the AR, such as computer projector (BARCO) and also will pay the conference site fee. Thanks to Mei Hong.
2. Baisu and Zhiwei reported proceedings on the forum to be held on Nov. 21. Because Baisu will have a business trip to States, Ying will be a chairman of the forum. Several persons are the candidates for Keynote speakers: Yuanqing Zhou, Huisheng Chi, Qinping Zhao, Jintong Lin who are involved in “producing” professional people; and Zhengfei Ren (from Huawei), Liren Liu (Alphine), Guojie Li, who are the persons “Using” the professionals. Baisu and Zhiwei are responsible for looking after these people.
3. At least 80 qualified attendees for Nov 21 forum have to be invited carefully, these people will come from universities (heads of CS department), governments, research institutes, IT enterprises, media and other fields. The forum will be held at Friendship as well.
4. Zide showed a proposal for YOCSEF year plan for 1999, it is to be discussed after second forum.
5. Zide reported CCF’s situation, and gives some proposals, such as to develop CCF senior members, Weixing will the Secretary General for Microcomputer special technical society of CCF.
6. It is urgent to set up a “Youth Working Committee (YWC)” for managing YOCSEF, youth computer conferences, serving the young computer scientists. YWC will work under the CCF headquarters or Secretary General. Tieniu is recommended as a person being responsible for setting up the YWC.
7. The conclusions will be made after Nov. 21, YOCSEF will have a whole AC members meeting, to be announced later on by Zide.
